He has led the Department of Newborn Research since 2009. <br \/>He completed his neonatal fellowship training at McMaster University, Canada where he developed an interest in Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence Based Medicine. His interest in non-invasive ventilation led to an MD through the University of Melbourne in 1998. He leads a team of enthusiastic clinical researchers interested in improving the care of babies in the delivery room and in the intensive care unit. He established the first Neonatal-Perinatal fellowship program in the UAE in 2009 which received accreditation of ACGME, Arab Board and Department of Health of Abu Dhabi.<br \/>Dr. Rahmani received several awards and recognitions from the American Medical association, American Academy of Pediatrics and Tawam Hospital. In the last 20 years Dr. Rahmani have published 21 original papers in peer review journals, Over 100 communications and abstract presentations and participated in several international conferences as guest speaker. He also concurred with the American Board of Medical Quality. He received his MBA in Health Care Management from Ireland.<br \/>Currently working as a Director of Medical Education and Consultant Neonatology.<br \/>He is also an adjunct faculty member and Professor of Pediatrics at Khalifa University and a Professor of Pediatrics at Gulf Medical University.<br \/>He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Royal College of Physicians in Canada and has an honorary fellowship from the American Austrian Foundation.<br \/>He is a member of the AAP and the American Board of Pediatrics. Also, an active member of the committee for Neonatal Resuscitation.<br \/>He is a regional instructor for life support courses (NRP).<br \/>He is an examiner at Khalifa Univ. Gulf Medical Univ. and in Pakistan.<br \/>He established the first CME program in a hospital in Abu Dhabi. Currently, he is chairing the CME committee for the hospital.<br \/>He has vast experience (&gt;25 yrs.) in medical education and visiting faculty in Pakistan and Canada.<br \/>He is on the editorial board of online journals. He is the author of a chapter in a textbook on Neonatal ventilation. He also published extensively in some reputed journals. He is one of the main authors of the Neonatal Resuscitation Manual for Pakistan. She completed a fellowship in neonatal and perinatal medicine at St. Louis Children\u2019s Hospital before joining the faculty of the USC division of Neonatal Medicine in 2020.<br \/><br \/>Dr. Martinez is passionate about clinical work in neonatal-perinatal medicine, quality and process improvement measures and outcomes, residency mentorship and education, pediatric emergency transport medicine, and global health medicine. She is currently a practicing Attending Neonatologist in the Neonatal Infant and Critical Care Unit, as well as a Physician for the Alan Purwin Emergency Transport Program. He is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and a core faculty member in CHOP Clinical Futures.<br \/><br \/>Dr. Flannery is also a clinical epidemiologist. His research focuses on infections in newborns and on antibiotic use in the neonatal intensive care unit. Antibiotics are lifesaving for infected newborns, but they are often started in babies who turn out not to be infected, and bacteria are becoming harder to treat as antibiotic resistance grows. His work asks which newborns need antibiotics, which antibiotics are most likely to work, and how to protect these medications so they remain effective for future patients. He leads the multicenter Surveillance of Invasive and Resistant E. coli in Newborns (SIREN) study and has received research funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and CHOP. Dr. Flannery is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (JPIDS) and serves on the Executive Steering Committee of the international Tiny Baby Collaborative.<br \/><br \/>Dr. Flannery is committed to teaching the next generation of clinicians. He is Director of Pediatric Trainee Education at Pennsylvania Hospital, an Associate Program Director for the CHOP Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship, and the Perelman School of Medicine clerkship
